Jeopardy! was written as a fun challenge to myself to see if I could clone an existing game show. Originally, it only supported text and picture clues and had no sound effects but eventually gained support for video clues, sound effects, board fill effects and, in its most recent incarnation, player ring-in, lock-out, and automatic score deduction.

Jeopardy’s clues are all based around plaintext files, while each of the big screen clues are simply PNG files with the text printed out on them. It was very time-consuming to make a game.
